Jarell Quansah has been tipped to make a sensational move to Everton after falling out of favor at Liverpool this season.
The young center-back lined up in 10 of the Reds' final 15 Premier League games under Jurgen Klopp last term, but he lost his place in the team just 45 minutes into this season.
Quansah has only started one league game since the opening weekend of the campaign, with Ibrahima Konate having firmly established himself as Arne Slot's preferred partner for captain Virgil van Dijk.
Former Everton scout Bryan King believes Quansah would be "quite happy" to continue his career on the blue side of the city.
“Therefore, I couldn’t see that being a problem, and I think Liverpool will sell to the club that makes them the best offer.
In addition, I’d imagine Quansah would be quite happy to move across Stanley Park
Therefore, a move to Everton wouldn’t cause him or his family too many problems."
In truth, this story doesn't seem to have anything behind it besides King's quotes, which come across exactly like the answer of a man who was asked a suggestive question and gave an answer rooted in geographical logic rather than substance.
King saying things like "I couldn't see that being a problem," "I think Liverpool will sell to the club that makes them the best offer," and "I'd imagine Quansah would be quite happy" don't exactly scream well-sourced story, so it's fairly safe to file this one under "transfers that almost definitely won't happen."
The Athletic reported earlier this month that Liverpool has no intention of selling Quansah this year, with Slot keen for him to continue his development at the club next term.
After quickly deciding that Quansah wasn't ready to be a regular alongside Van Dijk at the start of the season, Slot praised the youngster in February, saying that he was back to his best level after putting in an important performance as a second-half substitute in a win against Wolves.
“I think everybody has seen recently that he did really well and I see in training sessions that he is back to being the same Jarell that he was in pre-season,” Slot said
