Florian Wirtz hasn’t officially arrived at Anfield yet, but the buzz inside the Liverpool dressing room is already building.
And now, one of the club’s senior players has weighed in on what fans can expect from the man set to become Liverpool’s next marquee signing.
The 22-year-old German is on the verge of sealing a blockbuster transfer from Bayer Leverkusen.
While no deal has been officially confirmed, reports from top-tier sources including Fabrizio Romano suggest that a verbal agreement is in place, with a deal potentially reaching £126 million.
Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen remain in talks, but all signs point to Wirtz becoming the club’s record signing and one of the most exciting arrivals in recent memory.

Robertson didn’t hold back when asked about Wirtz’s quality.
Speaking to Sky Sports at a charity golf event, the Liverpool vice-captain gave fans a glimpse of what the squad thinks about the potential arrival.
“He was excellent against us,” Robertson said, referring to Scotland’s 5-1 loss to Germany at Euro 2024.
He can mix it up.”
Robertson added: “I haven’t seen too much of him, but I’ve played against him and that was enough for me to see he’s going to be a top player!”
Wirtz also crossed paths with Liverpool in the Champions League earlier this season, when Leverkusen faced the Reds.
While Liverpool had the upper hand in that game, Robertson acknowledged Wirtz’s threat and versatility.
Wirtz represents more than just another attacking option, he’s a statement of intent.
The attacking midfielder brings technical class, vision, and an ability to thrive in tight spaces, all traits Liverpool can use as they look to build on last season’s Premier League title.
Robertson summed up the mood best: “If we get him through, then he’s an exciting talent through the door… and we’ll be excited to play with him.”
