Liverpool looks set to part ways with long-time backup goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, as the 26-year-old prepares for a new chapter in his career.
Amid rising speculation, reports indicate that Liverpool and Brentford have reached an agreement, and they’re finalising the move now.
According to Sky Sports, the transfer will involve an initial £12.5 million fee, with performance-related add-ons potentially raising the total to £18 million.
Brentford plans to conduct the medical early next week.

Kelleher, who has primarily played as Alisson Becker’s backup at Liverpool, has never concealed his desire to earn a spot in the first team.
Despite several standout performances in domestic and European competitions, the Irish international now feels it’s time to move on.
“I’ve said it before… I feel like I’m good enough to be a No.1 and I feel like I’m good enough to play week in, week out,” Kelleher told Optus Sport.
“This season I was lucky enough to play a lot of games but it’s definitely something I’m looking at.”
His stance has been supported by Republic of Ireland boss Heimir Hallgrimsson, who praised Kelleher’s top-level experience but highlighted the need for continuous playing time (via reports by Irish Echo):
“I don’t mind where he goes so long as he is playing on a regular basis because he is too good not to be playing.”
Kelleher departs Liverpool with an impressive silverware collection.
In 67 appearances for the Reds, he has won two Premier League titles, the FA Cup, and two Carabao Cups.
Even though he played a supporting role, both staff and supporters have taken notice of his contributions.
Liverpool have started revamping their goalkeeping structure by lining up Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia, with Kelleher’s exit marking the first major change.
