The busy summer for Liverpool transfers is not slowing down.
The latest exit is set to be young winger Ben Doak, who is close to joining Bournemouth in a deal worth around £25 million.
The club has reportedly recouped more than £180 million in sales, and Doak’s move will add to that tally.
Doak joined Liverpool from Celtic in 2022 for just £600,000.
The deal also includes a buy-back clause, meaning Liverpool can bring him back in the future if they wish.
The Scotland international already has senior caps for his country and was close to playing at Euro 2024 before an untimely injury.
Turning a £600,000 signing into a £25 million transfer is the kind of profit that would make even accountants cheer louder than the Kop.
This deal also helps Bournemouth replace Dango Ouattara, who joined Brentford in a record transfer last week.
For Doak, it’s a chance to start fresh in the Premier League with more minutes and less pressure.
