Ryan Gravenberch has shared his thoughts on Liverpool’s summer changes while also looking ahead to the new season.
The Dutch midfielder, speaking on international duty with the Netherlands, reacted to the departure of assistant coach John Heitinga and reflected on his own development at Anfield.
Liverpool recently confirmed that Heitinga has left his role to become head coach of Ajax.
Gravenberch, who worked closely with the coach throughout the season, admitted it was a shame to see him go.

Discussing Heitinga’s exit, Gravenberch told Algemeen Dagblad:
“I also talked a lot about my game this season with John Heitinga, watched a lot of footage as well.
I personally think it’s a shame that he’s going to Ajax, but I think they have a good coach in him.”
The midfielder also praised new head coach Arne Slot, calling him “a very good coach, with a great eye for detail.”
Gravenberch credited Liverpool’s coaching and fitness staff for keeping him in top condition throughout a demanding campaign.
The 23-year-old started 37 Premier League matches as Liverpool stormed to the title.
“Recovering well after matches has become very important.
I also have to compliment the Liverpool staff on that: they made sure that we were always perfectly prepared physically for the matches,” he added.
Gravenberch made it clear that he is fully committed to Liverpool and excited about the season ahead.
When asked about maintaining his fitness and consistency, he replied:
“I think that recovering well after matches has become very important.”
Looking forward, he added, “I’m someone who prefers to look to the future than back… As far as I’m concerned, the season couldn’t start soon enough.”
Gravenberch’s comments come as Liverpool prepares for further changes this summer, both in the squad and backroom staff.
But with key players like the Dutch midfielder focused and hungry for success, the Reds look well-placed to build on their title-winning campaign.
