The versatile midfielder has played 147 times for the club since joining from Fulham, aged 16, for a fee of £4.3million.
In those appearances he's got 15 goals and 20 assists to his name but has found himself the understudy to club icon Mohamed Salah on the right wing.
Other appearances in central and attacking midfield area have impressed but his future at the club is uncertain.
This season saw just five starts in 25 appearances across the campaign, with four goals and two assists, having started it injured.

talkSPORT understands a number of Premier League clubs are looking at the youngster.
Wolves are one of those and it's believed Liverpool value the 22-year-old in excess of £40m - a tidy profit.
And Cascarino believe now is the right time for him to move on, especially if he impresses at the European Under-21 Championship.
He told the Weekend Sports Breakfast: "I mean I'm interested in Harvey Elliott, one that stands out for me, because I do think it's time for him to move on from Liverpool.
I just think because of the signings they have made.

"It would be great for him to have a great Under-21 [tournament].
"I think every time I've seen him put on a shirt for Liverpool and with the Under-21s, I think Harvey Elliott's done well in every game.

"He's really enthusiastic, one of those guys who always wants the ball in any situation.
You know, he was just infectious, Ray, and Harvey Elliott reminds me of that.
"Ray Houghton had a great ability to always want the ball and was very vocal on the pitch.
"And he [Elliott] has handled himself brilliantly.
But it's a great opportunity with the Under-21s to have a really good tournament."
Houghton was a two-time title winner with Liverpool when he played for them from 1987 to 1992.

Meanwhile, England legend Stuart Pearce told talkSPORT exactly where he should move to next.
When playing a game of 'Transfer Tinder' on the talkSPORT Breakfast he was asked about West Ham moving for the player.
Pearce replied: “[Swipe] right, every day for me, on both counts.
“The player needs to play.
When [Jurgen] Klopp left, he said: 'I should have played Harvey Elliott a bit more'.
Right."

Elliott himself has already spoken about his future this summer.
Elliott said: "It's just a situation that me and the team have to have a conversation about because I'm coming into an age now where I'm 22, I'm going to be 23 next season.
"I don't really want to be wasting years [of] my career, because it's a short career.
