Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah will not face criminal action relating to an allegation of him using his mobile phone whilst behind the wheel of a car.

A video appeared online back in August after Liverpool had defeated West Ham 4-0 which allegedly showed Salah using his phone behind the wheel of his car as autograph hunters swarmed around his vehicle.

Liverpool FC contacted the police themselves about the incident, but as reported by Glenn Price of ESPN, no charges will be brought against Salah.

In a statement obtained by ESPN, Merseyside Police said: We can confirm a 26-year-old man was spoken to following an incident on Arkles Lane in Liverpool on Sunday, August 12th, 2018.

Enquiries have taken place and there is insufficient evidence to support a prosecution and as such no further action will be taken.

The man has been spoken to by officers and given advice and guidance around mobile phone use in a vehicle.

Salah, who is currently away on international duty, came in for some criticism at the time of the alleged incident but he will be happy to see that no charges will be brought against him.
