Darwin Nunez’s Liverpool future remains a topic of debate as the striker’s name is now being linked to an unexpected destination, Paris Saint-Germain.

According to former France international Marcel Desailly, Nunez would be an ideal addition to PSG’s forward options.

Speaking to Oddspedia (backed by Liverpool Echo), Desailly highlighted the Liverpool striker’s movement and physicality, claiming he’d thrive in a back-up role at the Ligue 1 champions.

Fresh off a dominant 5-0 Champions League final win over Inter Milan, PSG are evaluating how to reinforce their squad.

Desailly listed both Kai Havertz and Darwin Nunez as top targets, saying:

“Nunez is a point of reference and has great movement, he has been unlucky in front of goal but I think he’d do well in a back-up role for PSG.”

While there is no indication of formal talks, the suggestion adds another layer to the transfer noise surrounding Nunez, who scored just seven goals in 47 appearances last season.

Liverpool previously rejected an approach from Al-Nassr for Nunez in January, and Atletico Madrid have also been named among his admirers.

However, no clear message has emerged from Anfield regarding the striker’s availability.

Liverpool manager, Arne Slot, is believed to be evaluating his attacking options ahead of a potential tactical reset this summer.

Despite a frustrating season, Nunez still boasts significant market value, and if Liverpool are willing to listen, more clubs may soon join the queue.

For now, PSG’s name is the latest to enter the mix.
