Liverpool summer signing Jeremie Frimpong has offered his support to former teammate and Reds target Florian Wirtz after he found the net during Germany's Nations League defeat.
The 22-year-old headed Die Mannschaft in front against Portugal during their semi-final tie but it wasn't enough to inspire their progression to Sunday's final as Chico Conceicao and Cristiano Ronaldo inspired the turnaround.
Arne Slot is continuing his pursuit of the highly-rated German international and Liverpool supporters caught a glimpse of the prospective arrival.

Former Bayer Leverkusen defender Frimpong completed his move to Anfield from the Bundesliga outfit on a five-year deal and could reunite with his old clubmate, with the Reds determined to get a record deal over the line.
The defeat to Portugal could be Wirtz's final game on international duty for Julian Nagelsmann's side as it remains to be seen if he'll feature in their third-fourth playoff, against the loser of the other semi-final between Spain and France on June 8, two days before the window shuts before the beginning of the Club World Cup.
Posting to social media after Germany's defeat to Roberto Martinez's side, Wirtz wrote: "Not enough today [face with diagonal mouth emoji]."

Frimpong was among those to like the post, which received over 435,000 reactions, with former Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearing also reacting to the Instagram carousel.
Liverpool received a glowing assessment of Wirtz's quality from one of his club teammates and former Premier League attacker, Nathan Tella.
The pair enjoyed great highs under Xabi Alonso, going unbeaten to win their first-ever Bundesliga, winning the DFB Pokal and reaching the Europa League final.

"He's great as well, you can see his ability every time he gets on the ball," Tella claimed.
"He's one of those players between the lines, he dribbles, he can create passes, he can score.

"For me as a forward he's great to play with.
He's a very creative player, someone who can change the game just like that.
"He has so much talent, so much technical ability, he has an eye for goal, he's just a brilliant, a proper number 10.
They should look forward to watching him (if he leaves)."
