Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb has claimed that the Reds have 'surveyed Leao' with a view to a potential transfer.
This, the report claims, is due to Liverpool preparing for the possibility of either Cody Gakpo or Luis Diaz leaving the club and needing to sign a replacement.
Bayern Munich have also been heavily linked with signing Leao, with suggestions of a price tag being set at around €130million (£109.4million).
