Palace value Guehi at around £40million, with Liverpool previously registering an interest in the Eagles captain, but only for a figure below the £45m mark.
Things now appear to have changed, especially after Guehi’s last match where he led Palace to a Community Shield win over his potential future club, Liverpool.
Guehi has not agreed personal terms with the Reds despite reports claiming he has.
It's understood Liverpool are keen to do any deal via the club rather than approaching the player first due to their good relationship with Palace chairman Steve Parish.

Speaking after the Community Shield, Parish was asked if he may have to cash in on the England international as his contract expires next summer.
"We'd have to do that, of course," he responded.
"For players of that calibre to leave on a free, it's a problem for us unfortunately.

"We then had another bid [for Guehi] in January but that was a different situation.
"We'll just have to see what happens.
But, you know, it needs a new contract or a conclusion of some kind."

The champions have already had a very busy summer
On the other side of things, there were also noises from Liverpool that they aren't finished after a blockbuster summer window.
Head coach Arne Slot said his team 'wouldn't hesitate' if they saw another opportunity to strengthen while speaking after the penalty shoot-out defeat.
"What people tend to forget is we lost four starters as well and that is not normal," he said.
It is not just down to them, the players that have stayed behind have also helped because they have such a good structure.
"We have lost Trent Alexander-Arnold, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez and losing that experience makes a difference.

"I can tell you that the players we have brought in have the quality to play for Liverpool.
"We have more than enough options [in defence], but if we see a chance in the market, we will not hesitate to act."
Liverpool have already spent a massive £265.2m this summer on Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, Hugo Ekitike and Giorgi Mamardashvili.
There's a chance there could be more offers after Guehi too, with Alexander Isak trying to force an Anfield move.

Newcastle rejected a £110m offer from Liverpool earlier in the window for their star striker.
The Swede missed much of pre-season and after being banished from training by Eddie Howe, he's now told the club he won't play for them again.
