Liverpool are now being linked with a move for a new defender amid rumours that one of their own players could be heading for the exit door.
The summer transfer window will reopen on Monday, which will then give the Reds the rest of the summer to complete their business ahead of next season.

Reports have now emerged claiming that Liverpool are looking to sign a new centre-back this summer.
Portuguese news outlet O Jogo have claimed that Sporting Lisbon defender Goncalo Inacio is a player of interest to the Reds.
The report claims that Liverpool are joined by Manchester United and Newcastle in expressing an interest in signing Inacio this summer.

It has been reported that Inacio has a €60million (£51million) release clause in his contract, with the terms of his current deal running until the summer of 2027.
The links connecting Liverpool with the signing of Inacio come amid speculation around Jarell Quansah's future at Anfield.
Reports from Germany have claimed that Bayer Leverkusen are expressing an interest in signing the Reds centre-back.

Quansah recently starred for England Under-21s in their Euro U21 Championship opener against Czechia on Thursday night.
The Liverpool defender played the full 90 minutes as the Young Lions claimed a 3-1 victory in Slovakia.
