Liverpool have been given hope in their pursuit of Marc Guehi following a claim that a deal is likely to be struck before the summer transfer window shuts.
Palace are reported to want £45million for the centre-half, while the Premier League champions are sticking firm to their £35m offer, leaving a £10m gap to close.
Rumours about Guehi's future, who is in the last year of his contract at Selhurst Park, ramped up over the weekend.
It followed claims that the 25-year-old gave Palace boss Oliver Glasner the cold shoulder on the pitch after their goalless draw with Chelsea in the Premier League, although this has since been dismissed as a misunderstanding.

Ex-Manchester United and Wrexham shot-stopper Ben Foster is confident that Guehi's move to Liverpool will materialise, despite the difference in valuation between the two clubs.

Despite Glasner's remarks, Palace are reportedly scouting potential successors for Guehi.
The Eagles have placed Club Brugge centre-back Joel Ordonez on their radar, whilst also maintaining keen interest in Sporting CP's Ousmane Diomande.
Earlier this month, Palace co-owner Steve Parish conceded that there was a possibility Guehi could be sold in the summer.
