Speculation remains over Trent Alexander-Arnold's future.

Liverpool could be set for a busy summer transfer window - especially if they do have to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The right-back is out of contract at the end of the season, at which point he would be able to leave Anfield as a free agent.

The Reds remain in talks with Alexander-Arnold and his representatives over a potential extension beyond his current terms.



However, there continues to be speculation that the Liverpool vice-captain could move to Real Madrid on a free transfer when his contract expires.

As a result, various reports have claimed that Liverpool are busy scouting the market for a would-be replacement for Alexander-Arnold, in the event he goes.

CaughtOffside have reported that Liverpool are showing an interest in signing Flamengo right-back Wesley.

However, the report argues that the Reds will face competition from Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal and Barcelona for the Brazilian's signature.

It has been claimed Liverpool have already made an "informal approach" to Flamengo about possibly signing Wesley, who has been tracked by club scouts for more than 12 months.

The report goes on to say that the Brazilian club have placed a price tag worth between €30million (£25.6million) and €35million (£29.8million) on Wesley's signature.

If Alexander-Arnold was to depart this summer, it would leave Conor Bradley as the only recognised right-back in the squad.

Joe Gomez has deputised in that role, throughout his Anfield career, while Jarell Quansah started at right-back in the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle, with all three aforementioned players side-lined through injury.
