The CIES (International Centre for Sports Studies) Football Observatory has given Liverpool a 28.9 percent chance of winning this season’s title - the highest probability given to any team (via BBC Sport).
Arsenal is considered to have the next-best chance, having been given an 18.8 percent probability of ending its long wait for a title, while Chelsea has actually been given a better chance of being crowned champion than Manchester City, with the Blues given a 16.2 percent probability compared to City’s 14.4 percent.
Nottingham Forest (7.9%), Newcastle (5.8%), and Aston Villa (3.2%) are considered outsiders for the title, while 20-time champion Manchester United has been handed just a 2.6 percent chance of overtaking Liverpool.

The CIES Football Observatory’s model for predicting which clubs will win their respective leagues combines sporting, economic, and demographic variables, taking a number of factors into account, including passes into the final third and transfer fees.
Compared to other leagues, Liverpool seemingly has a much tougher task in winning the title than other big clubs across Europe.
Real Madrid is considered the favorite to win La Liga with a 40.6 percent probability, with even Barcelona being given more of a chance than the Reds of being crowned champion at 29.6 percent.
Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are the overwhelming favorites of their leagues, having been given 61.4 percent and 73 percent chances of winning the Bundesliga and Ligue 1, respectively.
Liverpool is given a better chance of winning the Premier League than the favorites in Italy, though, with Inter Milan (25.6%) considered the favorite for Serie A ahead of Juventus (18.2%) and Napoli (17.4%).
The Reds are back in action this weekend following the international break as they aim to continue their perfect start to the season.
They head to Burnley on Sunday, with deadline day arrival Isak in the running to make his debut for the club, having made his first appearance of the season for Sweden against Kosovo on Monday.
