Liverpool to hand Jordan Henderson new role after critical injury update - pundit
Danny Mills has claimed Liverpool will “tinker” with Jordan Henderson’s position and move him into a defensive midfield role against Chelsea for Saturday’s (14 May) FA Cup final.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Man City and England defender insisted Liverpool have the quality to deal with Fabinho’s injury.
As quoted by BBC Sport on Thursday (12 May), Jurgen Klopp revealed that the 28-year-old is set to miss the FA Cup final with a hamstring injury.
He told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “I guess you are going to have to tinker with Jordan Henderson and his position within that structure.
He limped off as Liverpool beat Aston Villa 2-1 on Tuesday (10 May) and was replaced by club captain Henderson.
“Of course Fabinho will be a miss, he’s an exceptional player who plays a vital role in what Liverpool do.
The England international remains under contract at Anfield until the summer of 2025.
