Liverpool are willing to offer a new contract to French defender Ibrahima Konate.

The 18-year-old defender becomes the Reds’ next signing of this summer.

On top of that, Liverpool could still move for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi this summer, according to multiple reports.



Guehi reportedly wants to join Liverpool, and Crystal Palace might be open to selling him as his contract at the London club expires in 2026.

With Leoni already in and Guehi also on the radar, the Merseyside club are now focusing on offering a fresh deal to Ibrahima Konate.

The French defender was undoubtedly the backbone of the Reds’ defence last season.

His partnership with Van Dijk was one of the main reasons behind winning the Premier League title.

However, with Liverpool busy signing new players this summer, Konate might have felt overlooked by the club.

Multiple reports suggest he already rejected a new contract offer last month.

In his current deal, Konate earns around £70k per week at Anfield, while several teammates and new signings are earning far more.

According to Jose Felix Diaz, the Reds will table a new offer in the coming days.

If Konate rejects again, the club are prepared to sell him this summer.

Real Madrid have emerged as top contenders, and reports say Florentino Perez has already started work to bring him in for free in 2026, just like Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Merseyside club are aware of this and, according to multiple sources, are willing to accept offers close to €50m for Konate this summer if he does not extend his deal.
