Nunez is on the brink of leaving the Reds after three years at the club to join Al Hilal in a deal worth around £46million.

The Uruguayan is understood to be almost tripling his wages in Saudi Arabia, as he departs the Premier League for the Middle East.

His departure will mean Liverpool have sold Nunez and Luis Diaz, alongside the tragic death of Diogo Jota, seeing this summer bring a real changing of the guard when it comes to forwards.

Arne Slot still has Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo at the club, with Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike as new attacking additions too.

However, the Reds want more options up front, with club sources saying they will be looking to do more business in the market.

Following Nunez's exit, Liverpool will move for a striker, but only if they believe the player matches their conditions.

They also want to view any potential attacking arrival as good value in the market, whilst being realistically attainable too.

When it comes to getting any deal done though, club sources say they will not make signings just to satisfy outside narratives and any moves will be made using their typical strategic approach.

But Isak has now been banished from training by Eddie Howe amid the intense speculation over his future.

The Swedish striker has been training away from his teammates, following his absence from the club's pre-season tour.

Nunez will join Al Hilal in a £46m deal over the coming days.

He has been given permission to depart Liverpool and travel to complete his medical ahead of the move.

Nunez will team up with ex-Premier League players Joao Cancelo, Kalidou Koulibaly, Ruben Neves and Aleksandar Mitrovic.

The striker also had interest from Napoli, but Liverpool rejected the Italian giants' bid earlier in this transfer window.

Once this deal has gone through, things are then expected to ramp up when it comes to incomings again for the Reds.
