Newcastle United's head coach Eddie Howe has taken a firm stance on the ongoing transfer saga surrounding Swedish star Alexander Isak.
Howe confirmed that Liverpool had yet to make a formal offer for the player, who is currently in the UK.
Despite this, the coach believes there's still a chance that Isak could stay with Newcastle for the 2025/26 season.

During a press conference in Seoul, South Korea, Howe told Chronicle Live: "He is still our player.
My wish is that he stays, but that's not in my full control."

Howe further stated: "We have not received a formal offer for Alex, from any club.
My wish is he stays and we see him playing again next year."
When asked if he had discussed Isak's situation with Newcastle's management, Howe replied: "No, I haven't.
It's believed that Newcastle estimate the forward's worth to be around £150 million.
