Liverpool’s record signing Florian Wirtz is already feeling the weight of expectation at Anfield, with former England international Shaun Wright-Phillips suggesting the pressure on the German star will be far greater than on other emerging talents.

Wirtz completed a stunning $136 million (£100 million) move from Bayer Leverkusen to Liverpool on with a further $22 million (£16 million) potentially to be activated in add-ons, becoming one of the most expensive signings in Premier League history.

But Wirtz brings something that Liverpool don’t have right now, in that he can play cute little passes that Mac Allister can only do every so often

Arne Slot reportedly traveled to the south of France earlier this month to meet with Cherki and explore the possibility of bringing the Lyon star to Liverpool
