Liverpool have been told by one of their former players why they may not need to sign Alexander Isak this summer.
Now, Liverpool have been deemed to be the most likely destination for Isak if he is to leave St James' Park this summer.
The ECHO understands, though, that Liverpool are not currently expected to submit a second bid to sign Isak due to the swift nature of the rejection by Newcastle to their first offer.
Despite this stance, the Reds are still being linked with signing Isak ahead of the September 1 deadline for the summer transfer window.

Former Liverpool goalkeeper David James believes that his old club may not necessarily benefit if they were to sign Isak this summer.
The former shot-stopper also believes bringing Isak to Anfield would not make them more likely to retain their Premier League crown.
"Liverpool don’t need Alexander Isak to win the Premier League.
It’s possible for a team to be blessed with too many riches – and it can end with disappointing results," James told William Hill.

“I know it’s important not to attach too much importance to pre-season fixtures, but Liverpool look like a well-balanced side full of confident players.
"If they were to sign Isak, one immediate benefit would be that it would significantly weaken Newcastle.
But that’s not the difference between winning the Premier League or not – it wouldn’t make them any stronger favourites than they already are.”
