Salah doubt

Former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann has claimed he is unsure as to whether Mohamed Salah can continue being the main man in the first-team.

The Reds received an offer worth £150million for Salah last year from Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad, who are expected to renew their interest in the coming weeks.

It remains to be seen what happens next with the Egyptian, though Hamann is of the view Liverpool may struggle to find a like-for-like replacement.

Explaining why, he told Prime Casino: "Salah has been wonderful for Liverpool, but he’s getting older now.

If Salah moves on, I’m worried that there isn’t a player in the squad that is ready to take on the responsibility of being the main man.

" I don't see anyone there that can fill his shoes.

Liverpool have a lot of supporting acts, but they’re not ready to become the leading man.

Who can come into the team and do what Salah has done for the last seven years?

It’s a big challenge to try and find a replacement for him."
