Florian Wirtz could become the most expensive player in the history of British football when he joins Liverpool.

And Moises Caicedo, the man who currently holds that accolade, is not fussed to be losing the title though.

The Reds have agreed a deal with Bayer Leverkusen to sign Wirtz for what could eventually be a £116 million fee.

Liverpool will pay a guaranteed £100 million for the midfielder, with the remaining £16 million being potentially made up by achievable add-ons.

If those triggers are met then Wirtz will break the record.

Caicedo signed for Chelsea two years ago in a deal worth £115 million.

The Ecuadorian is currently away with his team at the Club World Cup.

Ahead of their opening game against Los Angeles FC on Monday night, he was asked about Wirtz's arrival on Merseyside.
