Liverpool might have lost 3-1 against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge but the main thing for Arne Slot was that he could experiment a little and give a few fringe players the chance to show they deserve more time on the field.
It didn't really work out like that, though.
If anything, by not starting, the reputations of Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai were enhanced.
"Dominating ball possession is not what many teams do at Stamford Bridge because Chelsea are so comfortable on the ball," Slot said in his post-match press conference.
"It was the opposite from the home game where they dominated possession and we won.
"Chelsea did well in both boxes.
The margins are small when you play a team like Chelsea with so many quality players.
