Speculation continues over the future of Alexander Isak, but as things stand, he will be heading into the new season as a Newcastle player.

The striker has made his way back to the north-east as the Magpies return from their tour of Asia, with Liverpool not planning on making a new bid for the time being after having an initial offer turned down on Friday.

Whether the Reds will return with a new bid later this month though remains to be seen, and they might be encouraged to do so as Newcastle continues its pursuit of RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko.

We'll keep you up to date on both sagas, and what they could mean for Liverpool's hopes of landing its dream signing this summer, as well as all the other transfer news and rumors.

Rodrygo once again finds himself being linked with a move to Anfield as an exit from Real Madrid looks to be possible this summer.

We really couldn’t have asked more of the boys, and I am extremely proud of them all."

Liverpool's asking price for Nunez

Liverpool's asking price for Darwin Nunez is $81 million, with Al-Hilal prioritizing a move for the Reds' No.9 this summer.

The Saudi Pro League club is reported to have stepped up its pursuit of the Uruguayan after deciding he is likely to be the most attainable of any of the club's striker targets.

Howe's warning to Isak

Eddie Howe has told Alexander Isak that he must earn the right to return to Newcastle training after ruling himself out of the club's pre-season tour of Asia, amid his desire to join Liverpool.

Howe told the Daily Mail:

"You have to earn the right to train with us.

No player can expect to act poorly and train with the group as normal."

Al Hilal identifies Nunez as top target

Al Hilal has identified Darwin Nunez as a top target to strengthen its attack, according to The Athletic.

It is claimed that Al Nassr has stepped up its pursuit of the Uruguayan after seeing Victor Osimhen move to Galatasaray.

Other targets like Benjamin Sesko and Alexander Isak are viewed as less attainable than Nunez, which is why the Saudi Pro League club is now firmly focused on Liverpool's No.9.

How Chiesa future could affect Everton

The future of Federico Chiesa could have a knock-on effect on Everton in the transfer window.

That's because Napoli is reportedly interested in signing either Chiesa or Jack Grealish to bolster the left-wing position in the squad before the summer window closes.

Chiesa's Liverpool future looks increasingly uncertain after a debut season in which he started just once in the Premier League and once in the Champions League.

Napoli is among several clubs in Serie A that have been linked with a move for Chiesa, but Manchester City star Grealish is also reportedly on the Serie A champion's radar.

If Napoli ends up signing Grealish instead of Chiesa, that would put a spanner in the works for Everton — because the Toffees are also keen on a deal to sign Grealish.

Grealish fell out of favor at City last season, lining up just seven times in the Premier League, with his most recent top-flight start coming in December.

If he moves to Napoli, the Toffees would have to look elsewhere for a new left winger, but it remains to be seen whether Grealish is interested in leaving England ahead of a season in which he will hope to nail down a spot in the Three Lions squad for next summer's Club World Cup.

Gordon decision underlines Newcastle's need to keep Isak

In Newcastle's final game of the tour, Anthony Gordon lined up as a striker due to the lack of options available to Eddie Howe at the moment, with Isak not present and Callum Wilson having left the club at the end of last season.

Newcastle has never won a Premier League game in which Gordon played through the middle, which underlines the club's need to keep hold of Isak ahead of the new season.

Newcastle sets Sesko deadline

Newcastle has spoken to Benjamin Sesko's camp today, and wants a response on a potential transfer within the next 24 hours, according to the Daily Mail.

The club continues to negotiate the make-up of a potential deal with RB Leipzig, and is still hopeful that Sesko can be signed.

Should he prefer a move to Manchester United though, PSG's Goncalo Ramos is seen as a possible alternative.

Chiesa interest

Napoli is considering a move for Federico Chiesa, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The Italian champion is said to be in two minds over whether to sign a new winger or full-back.

With a deal for Girona defender Miguel Gutierrez on hold though, they've turned their attention to options further up the pitch.

As well as Chiesa, Raheem Sterling and Jack Grealish are also said to be under consideration, with Chiesa's relatively low salary potentially making him a more attractive option.

Nunez price tag agreed

Darwin Nunez wants to leave Liverpool, according to Fabrizio Romano, with the club working to find a solution.

A $75M price tag is said to have been agreed, although the Reds could still lower that if they find themselves in a situation with time running out later this summer.

Al-Hilal is said to be keen and made contact with both Liverpool and Nunez, while AC Milan has only approached the striker's representatives.

Marc Guehi price

Crystal Palace is demanding $66M for Marc Guehi as Liverpool and Newcastle could find themselves in another transfer battle this summer.

That's according to The Mirror, which claims Palace chairman Steve Parish is playing hardball despite the defender only having a year left on his contract.

Liverpool is said to have already had a $53M bid dismissed, while Newcastle is said to not be willing to meet Palace's asking price.

Man Utd bid for Sesko

Benjamin Sesko's agent has arrived in Leipzig as a final decision is set to be made on his client's future, according to Fabrizio Romano.

It's claimed that Manchester United will make an official bid after Newcastle's was turned down, as long as Sesko opens the door to a move.

That could have a massive impact on Liverpool's hopes of signing Alexander Isak of course, with Reds fans hoping Newcastle can win the race for Sesko's signature.

Newcastle's Sesko bid turned down

Newcastle's bid for Benjamin Sesko has been turned down in what could be a blow to Liverpool's hopes of signing Alexander Isak.

The Magpies' substantial bid of $87 million, plus over $5.3 million in add-ons, failed to tempt RB Leipzig to sell, despite Sesko being left out of the Bundesliga side's squad against Atalanta on Saturday.

Although the initial fee put forward by the Toon matched the club's valuation, the total sum and its structure didn't meet Leipzig's expectations.

The German club remains optimistic about a potential bid from Manchester United after engaging in discussions with both the player and his representatives.

Rodrygo agrees personal terms

Liverpool has turned its attention to Rodrygo as a move to Alexander Isak may be off the table, according to ESPN Brazil (via The Standard).

It's claimed that contact has already been made with Rodrygo's agents before a first formal bid is made.

Personal terms are said to have already been agreed, while Arsenal and Tottenham have also been linked.

Second Isak bid planned

Liverpool WILL make a second bid for Alexander Isak should Newcastle make progress on signing a replacement for him, according to the Daily Mail.

The report refutes suggestions that the Reds will not be returning to the table after having an offer turned down on Friday, and claims that Newcastle is anticipating a much-improved bid.

The Magpies are pressing ahead with their pursuit of Benjamin Sesko, while they are said to be confident that Yoane Wissa's move from Brentford will go through once the Bees find a replacement.
