Liverpool still wants to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United, but it has long been assumed that the Magpies would need to sign a replacement for their star man before he was allowed to leave.
According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle has now made an improved offer for Benjamin Sesko, the RB Leipzig striker.
The Slovenian is said to have made clear that he would be willing to make the move to the North East.
Manchester United has also been in for Sesko but it is yet to make a formal bid.
