The new season is almost upon us, with Liverpool ready for another trip to Wembley as it kicks off the 2025/26 campaign against Crystal Palace in the Community Shield.
Reds boss Arne Slot will be speaking to the media today as he previews the game, and no doubt there will be plenty of discussion around transfers with just over three weeks of the window remaining.
Darwin Nunez's name might well come up, with the striker set to complete a move to Al Hilal, bringing an end to his three-year stay at Anfield.
There could also be some questions about his potential successor as the No.9.
Speculation continues over Alexander Isak's future at Newcastle, with the Swedish international having been forced to train alone by manager Eddie Howe this week, and there seems to be little sign of a resolution being reached on that front.
With Nunez on his way out, and more money coming in for Liverpool, could the Reds be tempted to make another play for Isak before the window closes?

Newcastle identifies new target
Newcastle has identified a new striker target, although it seems its options to potentially replace Alexander Isak are running out, according to The Athletic.
The Magpies are said to be considering a move to sign Samu Aghehowa from Porto, although no formal approach has been made yet.
Rather worryingly from a Liverpool perspective though, the 21-year-old is said to be high on the list, which only has a small number of options, to bolster their attack.

Harvey Elliott talks with Tottenham
Tottenham is stepping up its pursuit of Harvey Elliott, according to Football Transfers, despite reports earlier this week that the club decided not to pursue the Liverpool star.
This latest report suggests that Thomas Frank has held direct talks with Elliott, and that Tottenham is willing to meet Liverpool's $54M valuation.
The Times though reported on Wednesday that, while initial talks had been held with Elliott, Spurs had decided against pursuing the move.

Goncalo Ramos move
Liverpool is among the sides eyeing up a potential move for Goncalo Ramos, according to Caught Offside.
The PSG striker is reportedly looking to move away from the Champions League winners this summer, having struggled for opportunities under Luis Enrique.
The Reds are said to be considering Ramos as a potential long-term addition, although Newcastle, Manchester United and Aston Villa are also said to be assessing his situation.

Bradley Barcola move dismissed
Liverpool is not currently planning a move for Bradley Barcola, according to the Mirror.
Althought the PSG forward is liked by the Reds, there are no plans to target him at the moment, with the European champions unlikely to consider allowing him to leave in any case.
Liverpool is also said to feel a left-sided attacker of Barcola's age would blow Rio Ngumoha's path to the first-team, with the teenager having impressed throughout pre-season.

Giovanni Leoni 'on Liverpool list'
Liverpool is closely monitoring Giovanni Leoni, according to Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg.
The 18-year-old is said to be on the Reds' list for a potential transfer this summer, although nothing is advanced at this stage, with the focus still on Marc Guehi.
Several Italian clubs are also said to be keen on him, with a move away from Parma potentially on the cards this summer or in the next transfer window.

Slot on Mac Allister fitness
Slot confirmed that Alexis Mac Allister will be in the squad for the Community Shield.
And the reporter sneaked in an angle on Alexander Isak too, which the Liverpool boss swatted away:
"As you know from me, you [only] talk about players that are yours," said Slot.

Marc Guehi preference
Marc Guehi is happy to see out the final year of his contract at Crystal Palace, with the defender preferring a move to Liverpool, according to The Guardian's Ed Aarons.
It's suggested Newcastle could revive its interest though, which might force the Reds to make a move this summer.
Palace is said to want around $54M, having rejected $94M back in January.

KEY EVENT
New Isak offer 'ready'
Liverpool has a new proposal ready to be submitted for Alexander Isak, according to Fabrizio Romano.
It will need the Magpies to open the door to the transfer though, which might still be some way off given their fortunes in trying to find a new striker.
From Isak's point of view, the striker is said to not want to stay at Newcastle, or even play for the club now, as he eyes up a move to Anfield.
