Liverpool’s exciting transfer plans took a major step forward on Friday as the Reds agreed a deal to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.
The forward is set to join for an eye-watering £100 million ($135M) figure, with a further £16M ($22M) in possible future add-ons.
That will be Liverpool’s record transfer fee at minimum, and should the Reds pay the full amount, it will equate to the Premier League’s most expensive deal ever.
Wirtz is expected to travel to the UK next week to complete his medical, sign the contract and then be officially unveiled as a Liverpool player.
There’s still an expectation that Milos Kerkez could join Wirtz at Anfield soon, as the Reds’ exciting summer builds even more momentum.
But exits are also afoot.
Luis Diaz continues to draw interest from Barcelona, Darwin Nunez’s exit is anticipated, while Federico Chiesa has also been linked with moves to Italy and Turkey.
Meanwhile, Vitezslav Jaros could be the next name to depart, following Caoimhin Kelleher’s transfer to Brentford last week.
Reports in the Netherlands have indicated that he is set to join Ajax, and team up with John Heitinga again.
