Bradley Barcola wants to stay at Paris Saint-Germain, despite Liverpool making two approaches to sign him during this summer's transfer window — with one of those approaches coming this week.
ESPN reports that PSG is not open to selling Barcola, and that stance, coupled with the player's desire to stay, effectively rules out the possibility of the 22-year-old moving to Anfield.
The report states that Liverpool remains interested in another forward following Luis Diaz's departure to Bayern Munich, which went through last week.
Incidentally, Bayern also had an approach for Barcola turned down by PSG earlier in the window before settling on a move for Diaz.

Meanwhile, Newcastle's stance on Alexander Isak is reported to remain unchanged, in the wake of first-choice striker target Benjamin Sesko reaching an agreement to join Manchester United.
Isak wants to leave Newcastle but the Magpies will not allow him to depart without signing two new strikers, having also seen Callum Wilson exit at the end of last season.
Journalist Ben Jacobs reports that Liverpool has other targets in mind after missing out on Sesko
Nicolas Jackson and Yoane Wissa remain on Newcastle's radar.
Jacobs also says that Newcastle feels that Isak must either be sold, or commit to a new contract at St
James' Park before the transfer window closes — there is said to be no middle ground.
Liverpool saw a $146 million bid for Isak rejected last week, with the offer falling well below Newcastle's valuation of the player, which is believed to be closer to $200 million.
It was widely reported that the swift manner of Newcastle's rejection put Liverpool off from making an improved offer, but it is believed that the Reds do intend to return with an improved bid if they receive encouragement that a deal could be done.
The Isak transfer saga took another twist on Wednesday as it emerged that the Sweden international had been instructed to report to Newcastle's training ground after the rest of his teammates had returned home for the day.
The Swede has effectively been banished from first-team training by boss Eddie Howe after making it clear that he wants to leave.
Isak ruled himself out of Newcastle's pre-season tour of Asia due to a fitness issue but it later emerged that he was maintaining his fitness at former club Real Sociedad's training ground.
