Marc Guehi has no interest in signing a new contract at Crystal Palace after his Liverpool move collapsed on deadline day.

Guehi got as far as completing the first part of his Liverpool medical when Palace pulled the plug on the deal over concerns that Oliver Glasner would quit the South London club if his captain was sold.

While Elliott has initially joined Villa on loan, the deal contains an obligation for the Midlands club to sign the 22-year-old permanently next year.

His new squad number has raised eyebrows with some, though

Elliott's Villa debut could come in Liverpool, when Unai Emery's side travels to Everton's new stadium upon the Premier League's resumption after the international break
