Liverpool are sending out a statement of intent to the rest of the division and they haven’t even concluded their business yet.

The Reds were striking fear into their opponents’ eyes last season and now off the pitch, they are doing exactly the same.

They have sealed some pretty big deals, most notably the £116m transfer of Florian Wirtz, with Arne Slot building a super team capable of winning it all.

Liverpool still have a few more things to sort out, however, and after they have sold some stars and recouped some money, expect that to be invested elsewhere.

There might be a plethora of names linked with a move to Anfield this summer, but the player that both the club and the fans want to see come through the door most is Alexander Isak.

This is proving to be more of a possibility than many would think too, as Newcastle are reportedly worried about an incoming Liverpool bid for Isak which they expect to arrive next month.

A figure of at least £150m would likely be needed as Newcastle do not want to sell him, with the Magpies even said to be willing to break their club wage record to tie him down to a new deal.

Hugo Ekitike looks like Liverpool’s back-up option if they fail to get the Swede, but the Reds are at least set to test the waters for their ‘dream’ target.

This is another deal that heavily depends on Isak’s availability, but if a deal does not materialise and they opt against Ekitike too, then Liverpool are ready to steal Viktor Gyokeres away from Manchester United.

Liverpool want to off-load Darwin Nunez first, however, although that should not take too long with Uruguayan keen on a move to Napoli, providing the Reds with the funds needed for the Swede.

Arsenal also want Gyokeres but the race is currently wide open, although the Reds are ready to jump the queue with a ‘big money offer’.

Gyokeres has been allowed to leave this summer and after a bit of tension with those higher up, it looks to remain that way, and Liverpool would love to get another one over on their bitter rivals.

Harvey Elliott desperately wants a move away from Liverpool this summer, not because he has anything against the club, but just due to the fact he wants, and needs, more minutes.

Now, he looks like he might get his wish as Wolves are considering a £40m bid for Elliott as a Mateus Cunha replacement, as per journalist Dean Jones.

Brighton are said to be ‘put off’ by his high price tag but could still make a move as Joao Pedro looks set to depart, but the Wolves manager is a big admirer of Elliott and would like to bring him to Molineux.
