Florian Wirtz's Bayer Leverkusen teammate, Nathan Tella, has spoken out about the midfielder's possible transfer this summer.
The midfielder is now subject of a bid from Liverpool as talks continue to progress.
The Reds have offered £109m for the 22-year-old's services, the ECHO understands, made up of an unspecified fixed fee plus add-ons.
Sporting director Richard Hughes received the go ahead to ramp up negotiations when Wirtz himself made it clear that Liverpool was his preferred destination.
Wirtz has committed the past five years to Leverkusen, helping them win their first-ever Bundesliga title alongside the German Cup in 2023/24 whilst also gaining the recognition of Europe's elite.

Tella, who has played alongside the Liverpool transfer target 64 times since 2023, was full of praise for Wirtz ahead of a potential move to Anfield.
"As a player he's brilliant," the former Southampton and Burnley winger has told talkSPORT.
"You know, I've worked with him for the last two years and it's like each day I could just see this guy is unbelievable.
"It's no surprise he has a lot of interest in him because he's a brilliant player, but we trust that the club will make the right decision, he'll make the right decision.
"And as a friend, I hope he's also happy with whatever decision he makes, but we will support him regardless."
Although it's not yet clear what Wirtz's decision will be, Reds fans will be hoping it's to sign for Liverpool over Bayern Munich, with Premier League rivals Manchester City also conceding defeat in the race themselves.
The saga reached a pivotal stage last week, it has been claimed the German champions launched a final attempt to convince Wirtz they are the club to sign for.

According to SZ, this was done in the form of a secret meeting whilst Bayern's Bundesliga title celebrations took place.
Wirtz is said to have listened to a presentation from manager Vincent Kompany and talked to the club's senior staff, before coming to the conclusion that Anfield is the best place to take his career.
