The transfer market reopened on Monday, meaning Liverpool could complete the signing of Florian Wirtz imminently.
The start of the summer window is usually accompanied by some level of fanfare or excitement.
That’s not the case this year given the market only shut last week, and opens again six days later.
It’s now just a matter of time until Wirtz’s signing is completed and he is officially a Red, while all the indications are that Milos Kerkez will follow him through the door at Anfield.
As to where Liverpool turns next, that seems unclear.
A center-back, midfielder and striker are all reported areas of interest, although the latter is looking increasingly complicated as targets continue to be linked with moves elsewhere.
It may take outgoings in the window before Liverpool identifies any more targets.
There are no shortage of possible exits, as Bayer Leverkusen’s interest in Jarell Quansah continues to make headlines, Harvey Elliott’s future remains uncertain, and Darwin Nunez is attracting interest from Saudi Arabia and Europe.
