Liverpool have verbally agreed a compensation package with Feyenoord for Arne Slot to replace Jurgen Klopp as manager next season.

The Reds opened talks with Slot on Wednesday over replacing manager Jurgen Klopp, who confirmed back in January that he will leave the club at the end of the season.



The Dutchman is the first choice of Fenway Sports Group chief Michael Edwards and incoming director of football Richard Hughes.

Then before Feyenoord played Go Ahead Eagles on Thursday night, Slot admitted he wants to join Liverpool.

He told ESPN: "I'd like to become the new Liverpool manager, my decision is clear, it's no secret.

"Feyenoord and Liverpool are in talks to negotiate, I'm waiting to see what will come out of it.

Talks have accelerated over the past couple of days and Slot is on the verge of being confirmed as the next Liverpool manager.
