However, Arteta and his dugout rival Arne Slot are both set to be handed selection headaches at Anfield.

Jeremie Frimpong remains absent for the champions as he recovers from a hamstring injury.

The summer signing has been ruled out until after the international break.

Arteta was handed a double injury blow against Leeds last weekend.

Despite seeing his side win 5-0, captain Martin Odegaard and star man Bukayo Saka were both forced off during the match.

Odegaard left the Emirates Stadium with his shoulder in a sling and remains a doubt for this match.

Meanwhile, Saka has been ruled out for four weeks with a hamstring injury.

The England international will also miss the Three Lions' upcoming matches against Andorra and Serbia.

Their absences add to a growing list of injuries for the Gunners boss to contend with.

Kai Havertz missed the win over Leeds due to a knee injury, with Viktor Gyokeres continuing in attack.
