Welcome to Anfield as the 2025-26 campaign gets under way as defending champions Liverpool play host to Bournemouth (8pm kick-off).

The Reds sealed the club's 20th top-flight title last season at a canter, finishing 10 points above runners-up Arsenal.

But the Liverpool powers that be have certainly not rested on their laurels, committing to more than £300m in transfer fees this season, with further deals expected to come before the window closes on September 1.

That huge outlay has been offset by some big sales, too, with the latest departure looking set to be teenage winger Ben Doak.

He has pulled out of the Reds squad for tonight's big opener as he edges closer to a £25m move to this evening's opponents Bournemouth.

The two clubs have already done business this summer with Milos Kerkez making the move from the south coast to Merseyside.

Kerkez, along with the likes of Jeremie Frimpong, Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz, whose switch from Bayern Leverkusen could eventually break the British transfer record, could all make their Liverpool debuts tonight.

There have been big changes in the Bournemouth camp, too, with Dango Ouattara set to follow Dean Huijsen, Illia Zabarnyi and Kerkez out of the exit door after agreeing a £42.5m transfer to Brentford.

Bafode Diakite, Adrien Truffert and Djordje Petrovic have all been signed.
