Liverpool's predicted XI vs Bournemouth(Image: EA Sports)
Liverpool kick off the 2025/26 Premier League season against Bournemouth tonight, with the Reds starting their defence of the Premier League title.
After a fantastic campaign that saw Liverpool win the Premier League, a new-look Reds squad will begin the new season at Anfield today to take on Bournemouth.
Arne Slot's side enters the Premier League opener on the back of a Community Shield defeat against Crystal Palace, with the Reds losing on penalties after goals from Hugo Ekitike and Jeremie Frimpong saw the clash end 2-2 in 90 minutes.
Defensively, Liverpool have looked a bit shaky ahead of the new season, but Slot has already confirmed a deal for young defender Giovanni Leoni has been agreed, while the Reds are still working on a move for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
Ryan Gravenberch is ruled out of the Bournemouth game through suspension after picking up a red card on the final day of last season, while Conor Bradley is also set to miss out completely.

So, could Liverpool start the Premier League season with three points?
The kits from the 2025/26 season aren't available in EA FC 25, so both sides were lined up in last season's kits, while new transfers may have incorrect squad numbers in-game.
We predict that Liverpool could line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their starting XI as follows: Alisson; Frimpong, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Mac Allister, Szoboszlai; Salah, Wirtz, Gakpo; Ekitike.

We predict that Bournemouth could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Petrovic; Smith, Diakite, Senesi, Truffert; Billing, Adams; Brooks, Tavernier, Semenyo; Evanilson.
Liverpool got off to the perfect start when after just three minutes, Mohamed Salah was wiped out in the box, and a penalty was awarded.
Bournemouth had no answer for the Reds' domination, and nine minutes in, Slot's side doubled their lead.

Milos Kerkez's overhit cross made its way to Frimpong on the other wing, and this worked in the Reds' favour, with the Dutchman able to surge forward into space down the right.
His driven cross was dummied into the feet of Cody Gakpo by Ekitike, and a first-time strike saw the winger fire home to make it 2-0.
Despite the two early goals, Liverpool failed to grab any more before half-time, but this didn't stop them from starting the second half with a bang when Ekitike got on the scoresheet in the 51st minute as he tapped into an empty net after the 'keeper spilt Gakpo's shot into his path.
