Jurgen Klopp can revisit X-rated Liverpool claim after loss that could change everything behind the scenes

If the finale of Jurgen Klopp's reign is being referred to as the Last Dance behind the scenes at Liverpool, then this was the week when the music stopped.

And if the Reds manager is searching for inspiration for how he will accurately summarise a first home defeat in the Premier League since October 2022, then he will do worse to reiterate a phrase first coined nearly nine years ago on Merseyside.

"I can’t forget this f****** loss to Crystal Palace!" fumed Klopp about a November 2015 reverse at Anfield against the Eagles.

Back then, his tenure was in its embryonic stages and while clearly vexing, this 1-0 loss - thanks to Eberechi Eze's early goal - will likely become far more infamous in the fullness of time.

Jurgen Klopp provides Conor Bradley injury update

Jurgen Klopp admitted he is unsure if Conor Bradley suffered ligament damage after sustaining a foot injury in the second half of Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace.

The Northern Ireland international hobbled off at Anfield after a coming-together with Palace goal-scorer Eberechi Eze three minutes after the break and was replaced by Trent Alexander-Arnold, making his first Liverpool appearance since February 10.

The right-back, who has made 10 Premier League appearances for the Reds this season, was visibly distressed as he left the field with the help of the Reds' medical staff and headed straight down the tunnel.

Asked in his post-match press conference about the severity of Bradley's injury, Klopp said: "Conor overstretched his foot slightly.

"Right now, is the ligament damaged or not?

It was very painful for him."

If we play our stuff and once bodies come back, with what the manager has got us doing, we will be playing good stuff.

"I feel good this time around, I feel fit and I've got a smile on my face."

Palace end barren run

Today's victory at Anfield was Crystal Palace's first on the road since November - when they beat Burnley, a run that stretched 10 games.

The South Londoners also became the first Premier League side to win and keep a clean sheet at Anfield since Fulham, who did so in March 2021.

A poetic defeat to draw the curtain down on the Klopp reign

The last time Crystal Palace won at Anfield, April 2017, it would dawn a new era as Liverpool went 68 games unbeaten at home in the Premier League over four years.
