Jamie Carragher believes Liverpool can end Manchester City's title defence with a victory on Sunday.

"With some hesitation, I will make a prediction which - because of the Guardiola factor - may come back to haunt me," Carragher wrote in his Telegraph.

"If City lose to Liverpool, their title defence is over before Christmas.

That makes the upcoming game monumental in this year’s title race, early as it is.

The difference between an 11-point and five point lead is massive psychologically."

But former Rangers striker McCoist believes that this season's unpredictability could still offer City a way back in the title race - even if they fall 11 points behind the Reds on Sunday.
