Arne Slot and his Liverpool have a little over a fortnight of holiday time left to soak up before they begin their summer schedule.

Having won the Premier League title with four games to spare before jaunts to areas such as Dubai and Ibiza for brief breaks between fixtures, it may feel that the jubilant Reds have been in party mode for the best part of two months now.

And, in truth, such an assessment wouldn't be miles from the truth.

But the hard work starts up again soon enough and ahead of the big return to the AXA Training Centre next month, the ECHO takes a look at the key dates that will shape the Reds' summer.

Liverpool will report for duty on Monday July 7 and with no international tournament clogging up the calendar for Arne Slot, the Reds boss will have a full complement available to him on day one at the £50m Kirkby base, including Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong.

Later that week, the Reds begin the first of their five-fixture programme with a trip to Deepdale to face Preston North End on Sunday July 13.

That meeting represents the first chance for supporters to get a glimpse of the new signings, however many Slot will have made by then.

From there, the Reds will fly overnight to Hong Kong on Sunday July 20 before a meeting with AC Milan at the Kai Tak Sports Park on Saturday July 26.

The Reds then touch down in Japan before a clash with Yokohama F Marinos at the Nissan Stadium on Wednesday July 30 and then jet back to Merseyside ahead of back-to-back Anfield friendlies with Athletic Club on Monday August 4.

Plans to refurbish the club's Anfield megstore were given approval on Wednesday, meaning work will immediately begin on expanding the shop in time for a Friday August 1 open day.

The new-and-improved store will feature a wider entrance, expansion of the mezzanine floor, relocation of the staircase and escalator to improve accessibility and the addition of more tills, which will now be cashless to better meet demands of a busy matchday crowd.

The Reds will meet Crystal Palace at Wembley in the Community Shield but there had been some confusion and conjecture about when the game itself will be played.

Broadcasters ITV initially advertised the match immediately after the Eagles had beaten Manchester City in the FA Cup final last month and stated the coverage would be for Sunday August 10.

However, plans have now rowed back and there had been no official confirmation as to when the game would be played until Friday afternoon.

However, the Football Association confirmed that Sunday August 10 would be the day for the fixture with the FA Cup winners as they look to get their hands on the first piece of silverware of the season.

The champions will begin the defence of their Premier League crown on Friday August 15 when they entertain Bournemouth at Anfield.

After opening for a week on Sunday June 1, the transfer window closed a week later before player trading was permitted to resume from Monday June 16.
