Isak, formerly of Real Sociedad, is content at Newcastle, despite contract negotiations hitting a snag earlier this year before the exit of director of football Paul Mitchell.

Currently in Austria for pre-season training with Newcastle, Isak may soon welcome a new colleague.

Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike, another Liverpool target, has already attracted a £70 million bid from Newcastle.

Frankfurt are reportedly holding out for a hefty £86m for the Frenchman, who Newcastle nearly secured in 2022 before he opted for Paris Saint-Germain.

Hugo Ekitike is a target for both Liverpool and Newcastle.

Newcastle are keen on pairing Ekitike with Isak, who is Liverpool's top target as they look to bring in a new striker this summer.

Arne Slot and his team have been considering various options both domestically and internationally.

Even Marcus Rashford, who is reportedly seeking a move away from United, was mentioned during one conversation at Anfield.
