Even though the summer transfer window has closed, Liverpool are still being linked with potential new signings for the future.

The next chance the Reds will have to make new additions to their squad will be in January, and it's already generating plenty of rumours and speculation.

Arne Slot added eight new signings to his first-team squad this summer - with Florian Wirtz, Alexander Isak, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Giovanni Leoni, Armin Pecsi and Freddie Woodman all moving to Anfield.

There is already talk about which players may be the next stars to make the switch to Merseyside.

Reports on Monday emerged claiming that Brighton star Carlos Baleba may be a target for Liverpool.

Indykaila reported that the Reds could make a move for Baleba in January, with the same outlet being credited by The Athletic's David Ornstein about Manchester United's interest earlier in the summer.

United are reportedly still interested in signing Baleba - with some suggestions that Brighton would demand a fee in excess of £100million for the midfielder.

However, Liverpool may have a different valuation in mind.

should their interest turn out to be genuine.

The CIES Football Observatory have crunched the numbers and now placed their own valuation on Baleba in the current market.

Indeed, the website believes that the Brighton star is valued between €75million (£65million) and €87million (£75million).

It remains to be seen if Liverpool will pursue a deal for Baleba in the New Year, as reports claim.

The Reds tried to strengthen their centre-back department before the summer transfer window closed, with Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi close to completing a £35million move to Anfield, before the deal fell through.
