Liverpool will be keeping a close eye on the tournament as current players and potential targets aim to shine.
For many of the players, this may be a period to have some downtime and recuperate ahead of pre-season, which is less than a month away for the Reds.
However, the Under 21 European Championship is underway and is a chance for many of the younger players to show the world what they can do, whether that be to their current manager or to other ones vying for their signature.
Liverpool will certainly be keeping an eye on this competition as there is a chance of picking up a bargain and signing a star before others jump on the bandwagon.
This tournament also gives them the potential of finding a young centre-back that they have been looking for recently, with one in particular shining and proving why the Reds should reignite their interest in him.

Liverpool may be signing big this summer, but that does not mean they are not looking out for the next gem who could revolutionise their team.
With four top-quality centre-backs currently at the club, the likelihood that any of them will be there in two years’ time is highly unlikely, hence why they are wanting a younger defender to come through the door.

Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera could be the man to do just that, with the Spaniard shining again for the under-21s after winning Man of the Match as they beat Romania 2-1 on Saturday evening.

Liverpool have been scouting Mosquera for years and Rousing the Kop journalist Graeme Bailey previously saying that the young defender was “a hugely talented player,” with the 20-year-old only appearing to be getting better and better.
He may not have kept a clean sheet, but his dominant performance shows how he would fit into Liverpool’s team perfectly, especially as he has the combination of being powerful in the air while having the ability to play out from the back.
Despite being so young, he has already played 90 games for Valencia and is highly regarded within La Liga, suggesting he is ready for the step up.
There is still quite a way to go in the European Championships, but the Reds may want to act fast as Mosquera will not be short of options this summer if he continues.
Despite having four solid centre-back options, the future for most of them is very unclear.
Ibrahima Konate is yet to sign a contract and could potentially leave on a free next summer, with Real Madrid one club very interested.
As for Joe Gomez and Jarell Quansah, both of them could leave in search of more game time and they are not short of options, with Liverpool willing to sell both this summer.
That leaves just Virgil van Dijk as the defender nailed on to stay, although he will likely depart in two years’ time when his contract runs out as he will be 35 by the time that expires.
The Reds will need to start thinking long-term in this area of the pitch, but action needs to happen swiftly or else their desperation could become a disadvantage later down the line.
