Liverpool teenager Joe Bradshaw has taken the latest step in his burgeoning Anfield career by signing his first professional contract.

Bradshaw has put pen to paper on a new deal having last month turned 17 - the age at which clubs can offer youngsters a maximum of a three-year deal as stipulated by FIFA rules.

The versatile Bradshaw, who can play on either attacking flank and in more regular midfield roles, was the standout player for a struggling under-18s last season and finished top scorer with 14 goals in all competitions, netting 11 times and providing four assists in 22 U18 Premier League North games.

He scored on his U18 debut against Sunderland as a 15-year-old in October 2023, and has also already featured in the FA Youth Cup and the UEFA Youth League while being on the bench in the EFL Trophy.

Over the weekend, Bradshaw posted a message on social media that simply declared: "Delighted to sign my first professional contract with this prestigious club."

Bradshaw has been at Liverpool since moving from Accrington Stanley as an U12 player in March 2021, and has represented England at under-16 level.

The Academy is undergoing a summer of major change with the departure of long-serving Barry Lewtas and Marc Bridge-Wilkinson as U21 and U18 coach respectively.

Former Wales manager Rob Page has taken over as U21s boss while Liverpool are expected to appoint highly-rated Manchester United coach Simon Wiles to take charge of the U18s.
