Liverpool have had a massive clear-out of their ranks this summer, with players such as Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez being shown the exit door.
It’s clear that Arne Slot wanted to rebuild his team this summer, with the Reds’ attack being the main area of the team that has changed.

However, if the latest rumours to emerge from Anfield are true, Slot could be about to make a rather big decision on the future of one of his players.
When the summer transfer window first opened, many expected Harvey Elliott to be one of the first players to exit Anfield.
However, since players such as Wirtz and Dominik Szoboszlai already occupy Elliott’s preferred position of attacking midfield, there isn’t a clear path into the first team for him.
Indeed, Szoboszlai and Wirtz are occupying Liverpool’s number 10 spot at the moment, but with the Reds still needing an attacker this summer, Elliott could be used on the right wing instead.
Only time will tell what the future has in store, but on paper, it feels like keeping Elliott within Slot’s ranks this summer makes a lot of sense, especially since Neil Mellor dubbed the midfielder a “special talent.”
