Liverpool centre-back Joe Gomez is now being targeted by a surprise Premier League club that want to complete a last-minute deal.
The former England international could be set to leave Anfield before the 7pm deadline, after falling down the pecking order under Arne Slot.
Marc Guehi is undergoing his medical ahead of a move to Liverpool, which could further reduce Gomez’s potential game time.
AC Milan were in talks with the Reds over a deal for the 28-year-old before dropping their interest, but an English club has now joined the race for his signature.

According to The Athletic’s James Pearce, Brighton are interested in making a late move for Gomez, with the hope of completing a deal before the deadline.
There have been discussions between Liverpool and the Seagulls, but as of yet, nothing has been agreed.

It was reported that Gomez‘s move to AC Milan broke down as the Merseyside club had no guarantees that the Guehi deal would get done.
However, with the signing of the Crystal Palace captain all but confirmed, it may open the door for the versatile defender to move away from Anfield.

Real Madrid are believed to be keeping close tabs on the centre-back with a view to landing him on a free.
The Reds’ pursuit of Guehi has added further doubt to the France international’s future amid questions about his long-term role in the starting XI.
However, Slot remains determined to tie him down to new terms after Football Insider first revealed in October that Liverpool were in contract talks with Konate.
