Slot will likely have to make some additions, but the contract extensions of Van Dijk and Salah will have played a big part in how bookmakers have priced the club for next season.
We look back at some of the best signings Liverpool have made over the last 25 years, and hope any new additions put in the performances to make future lists.
Salah
Liverpool had attempted to sign Mohamed Salah from FC Basel in 2014, but were beaten by Chelsea.
He has now made more than 300 appearances for the club and leads the club as captain.
He joined from Southampton for a then world record transfer fee for a defender of £75 million.
Signed for just £8.5 million from Inter Milan, the Brazilian moved on to Barcelona after 5 years for a deal that was worth up to £146 million.
Things haven’t worked out for the tricky midfielder since moving on from Anfield, and now he finds himself out of the picture at Aston Villa.
Xabi Alonso
Xabi Alonso signed for Liverpool in 2004 and built a fantastic partnership with club legend Steven Gerrard during his 5 years at the club.
He still managed to net 45 times in 172 appearances for the London club, but the magic was not the same.
Andy Robertson
Just 4 years before signing for Liverpool from Hull for a fee of around £8 million, Andy Robertson was playing in the Scottish third division for Queen’s Park.
Not many would have believed that the Scottish full-back would turn out to be one of the best signings in the club’s history, but 340 games later, he has proved to be excellent value for money.
Sadio Mane
Another great signing from Southampton, Sadio Mane enjoyed 6 great years with Liverpool, scoring 120 goals and assisting 46 times in 269 appearances.
A deal worth around £36 million was agreed after the Senegalese forward impressed in his two years at Southampton, and a similar fee was agreed when he moved on to Bayern Munich.
Alisson
Alisson Becker joined Liverpool from Roma in 2018 for a world record £66.8 million, since beaten by Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga.
