Liverpool have been one of the busiest teams in the transfer market this summer, and with there now being just under two weeks left in the window, it’s unclear whether any more moves will be made.
The Reds have welcomed a plethora of new players to their ranks and, while on paper their team looks far stronger than it did last term, they still need some time to gel.
One of the main things that has been holding Liverpool back from making a formal move for Marc Guehi is the price tag that Crystal Palace have slapped on his head.
And now, while live on Sky Sports News, journalist Kaveh Solhekol has shared his thoughts on the Reds’ pursuit of the centre-back.
“It is possible [Marc Guehi leaves Crystal Palace in this window], it depends on what happens in the game tonight.
If they win the game easily so that they’re almost through the playoff, it doesn’t matter about the return leg next week,” he said.

“I can see a situation where maybe Liverpool step up their interest in Guehi and make an increased bid for him in the next couple of days.
“And then Palace would have a decision to make.
But having heard from [chairman] Steve Parish, he said we cannot have a situation where a player as good as Guehi leaves on a free transfer next summer.
“So they would possibly be open to selling both those players [Eberechi Eze as well].
And if Guehi was to leave, he would be replaced as well.”

Although Richard Hughes has just confirmed the signing of 18-year-old Giovanni Leoni, there’s still room within Slot’s ranks for Guehi this summer.
