Liverpool have released their brand new Adidas home and away kits to much fanfare this Friday.
The Reds have spent the past five years wearing Nike, having last been sponsored by Adidas in 2012.
A favourite amongst supporters, the German sportswear brand have signed a mega 10-year contract with Liverpool, kitting them out until at least the 2034/35 campaign.
Prior to the kit being revealed, Liverpool announced a raft of squad number changes including new signing Florian Wirtz being handed the No.
7 shirt.
What followed was a glitzy promotional advert which featured a number of Liverpool legends and current members of the Reds’ men’s and women’s squads.
However, while supporters were delighted to see the likes of Robbie Fowler, Jamie Carragher and John Barnes feature, there was one very notable omission.

When Liverpool returned to Adidas in 2006, Steven Gerrard was the face of much of the advertising.
An athlete of the company, the then Reds’ captain was a natural fit.
19 years on, fans had expected to see Gerrard front and centre of the adverts once again.
However, disappointingly, there was no sign of the legendary Scouser.

“Mateeee why isn’t Gerrard in the kit announcement,” one fan queried.
“Legit I was hoping to see Gerrard in the kit announcement as well,” added another.
“They missed a trick by not including Gerrard in this,” another supporter claimed, while more wondered “How didn’t Adidas have Gerrard & Torres.”

“Wish they’d got Gerrard and Torres in, would’ve been unreal,” one more fan admitted.

Adidas also harked back to a clip of Gerrard and Xabi Alonso firing footballs at clay pigeons during the 2000s, this time using Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch.
“Adidas recreated the Gerrard and Alonso clip with Macca and Gravenberch,” someone said, while others tried to explain the former captain’s absence.
“This was done ages ago.
