Liverpool might be champions of Europe - but a large majority of fans think transfers are a must this summer.

Jurgen Klopp’s side lifted the European Cup for the sixth time in June, having defeated Tottenham 2-0 in Madrid, and the Reds also managed to amass an incredible total of 97 points in the Premier League.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Rhian Brewster have both been referenced as new signings in recent weeks, by both Klopp and the team’s captain, Jordan Henderson.

There’s a definite element of truth to such a belief, given the risks related to standing still, but the perspective of the club and its recruitment team have to be considered before such definitive statements are made in regard to signings being essential.

Ultimately, the squad building undertaken by Liverpool in recent years has permitted Klopp to work with a relatively small but talented squad due to the versatility that is present, whilst fostering an admirable culture that focuses on togetherness, unity and teamwork.

From the viewpoint of the club, would Liverpool actually be standing still, considering there are virtually no real voids in the squad with the exception of left-back cover?

The youngster is just 17 years-old, but he's already 6ft 3inches tall and although it’s likely that he won’t impact the season much, he has the foundations in place already to seamlessly play around 1000 minutes in competitions that are now considered as secondary to Liverpool, providing the system around him is compact.
